Alpacas are not bred for your fur or have to die for your fur. Here in Peru these animals are specially protected. 

How can we offer fur products now? 

The alpacas live in the Andes at an altitude of up to 5000 meters. In your natural environment the weather is very extreme, there are temperature fluctuations from +25 degrees during the day to -20 degrees at night. During these freezing nights, especially in June- August, animals, especially young and old animals, freeze to death. 

In the past, these animals were burned the next day and the alpaca farmers, who are mostly very poor and dependent on the wool of the alpacas, suffered a lot of damage. An alpaca can be shorn every 2 years and the wool brings a multiple profit compared to the fur.
A new alpaca costs about 500 USD even in Peru. 

For 5 years now we have found a way to use the fur for our beautiful products. This means that the damage for our farmers is a little less and helps them to buy new alpacas. Even in this way it is not possible to cover the complete damage.
